This tool allows producers to compare costs of production and expected returns from an annual crop, such as wheat, and a perennial crop planted in the recharge area to address saline seep formation. It does not take into account foregone production in the seep area itself, nor the cost to farm around that area. Numbers provided here are meant only as starting values and will vary substantially from one producer to another, so it is important to enter estimates for your own operation. Numbers that are not inside a box are calculated automatically based on your entries.

For a wealth of information on saline seeps in Montana and how to reclaim seep areas, see the Montana Salinity Control Association (MSCA) website.
